The use of games and simulations enriches the explanation of contents and facilitates the communication of knowledge by the trainer. Simulations, by their nature, put participants at the same level, enable learning in a more a more relaxed environment and favor the generation of creative solutions to specific problems. In the past years, we have trained hundreds of professionals in the application of continuous improvement tools, using games and simulations.

This simulation demonstrates the impact and benefits of the implementation of various Lean features to a production system.

The application of Lean can dramatically improve customer service, increase labor productivity and reduce stock level and consequently, lead time.

Throughout several steps, the benefits of applying various Lean features, such as work space organization, levelling, setup time reduction, one-piece flow and pull systems are demonstrated.

With this simulation we demonstrate the SMED method of setup optimization and its results and benefits.

The application of SMED allows the reduction of changeover time, making it possible to make shorter production runs, and thus respond to demand with less inventory.
